1. Edit Lessons – Enhanced Permissions
You’ll now see a new ‘Limited’ option under the Edit Lessons permission within Roles and Permissions.
What it does:
- Lets you control who can edit lessons, on a per-lesson basis
- Offers conditional access based on employee attributes
- Automatically grants edit access to users who create new lessons
Permission Options:
- Allow – No restrictions on editing lessons
- Deny – User cannot edit any lessons
- Limited – Editing is only allowed if:
- The user matches specific attributes (e.g., Building, Division, Location, Role)
- Specific employees are selected
- Custom employee fields are met (if enabled)
2. Auto-Provisioning for Newly Created Lessons
When a user with Limited Edit Lesson permissions creates a new lesson, edit access is now automatically granted to that user for the lesson they created.
What it does:
- Removes the need for an admin to manually grant edit access to lessons users create themselves
- Ensures users who build lessons can immediately make changes to them
- Keeps existing permission rules intact for all other users
What users with Limited permissions will see
Users assigned a role with Limited Edit Lesson permissions will only see lessons they have access to edit in their lesson list. This includes:
- Lessons that match the conditions configured for their role (e.g., based on Building, Location, or other attributes)
- Lessons where they are specifically named as an allowed editor
- Lessons they created themselves (added automatically through auto-provisioning)
How to get started
- Go to Roles & Permissions in your Admin panel
- Choose the role you want to update
- Under Edit Lessons, select:
- Allow, Deny, or Limited
- If you choose Limited, configure the conditions for which lessons the role can edit (e.g., by Building, Location, Role, or specific employees)
Once Limited is configured, any user assigned to this role who creates a new lesson will automatically receive edit permission for that specific lesson — no admin intervention required.
